Absheron Olive Gardens is distinguished primarily by its expansive olive groves. The company utilises 700 hectares—the largest olive plantation in Azerbaijan—transforming barren land into fertile agricultural grounds. High-quality olive saplings imported from Spain, Greece, and Turkey are cultivated, optimising the region’s natural environment. In collaboration with experts from Italy, Turkey, and Israel, the company employs cutting-edge technologies across all stages of production, from cultivation to processing, with a steadfast commitment to delivering premium-quality products.
The company’s state-of-the-art production facilities have the capacity to process 35,000 tonnes of olives annually, producing a wide range of products such as olive oil and table olives for both domestic and international markets. These offerings, branded under ‘Made in Azerbaijan,’ are exported to Russia, Europe, Canada, and beyond, earning widespread acclaim.
Absheron Olive Gardens also actively promotes the health benefits of olive oil, including its role in preventing cardiovascular diseases and its antioxidant properties, with the aim of enhancing public health. By encouraging increased olive oil consumption and fostering healthier lifestyles within Azerbaijan, the company not only supports the local community but also positions itself as a key player in global markets. Through these efforts, it contributes significantly to the advancement of Azerbaijan’s agricultural and food industries.
The olive grove of the Absheron Olive Garden Limited Liability Company stands as a remarkable success story in the development of Azerbaijan’s non-oil sector and agriculture. Established in collaboration with experts from countries such as Italy, Turkey, and Israel, the enterprise has transformed 700 hectares of rocky, desertified land in the Zira settlement of Baku’s Hazar district, which had remained unused for many years, into thriving olive plantations.
For this project, a diverse range of high-quality olive saplings were imported from Portugal, Greece, Spain, and Turkey, including varieties such as Arbequina, Arbosana, Imperial, Gemlik, Manzanillo, Blanqueta, and Koroneiki. These varieties were carefully selected based on their suitability for producing olive oil and table olives, as well as their alignment with market demands.
Absheron Olive Garden operates both an olive oil production plant and a table olive production plant. The olive oil production facility was established as a joint venture with the Italian company Pieralisi and boasts the capacity to process 35,000 tonnes of raw olives annually. Using the cold pressing method, the facility produces premium-quality extra virgin olive oil.
The table olive production plant was set up in collaboration with the Turkish company Tutkun Makina. It is equipped with advanced technology to produce a wide variety of table olives, including green and black olives, pitted and unpitted olives, sliced olives, and stuffed olives.
The products manufactured at both facilities meet national and international food safety standards, as confirmed by the relevant certifications. The company’s products are not only sold locally within Azerbaijan but are also exported under the ‘Made in Azerbaijan’ brand to markets in Russia, Israel, Canada, Turkey, Spain, and other countries, where they are highly regarded.
